Parasites and Weight Gain

Parasites: Are parasites weighing you down?

Have you ever wondered why you feel so sluggish and bloated all of the time? Guess what. It is not your fault. Right now, living inside you, could be thousands of tiny parasites, eating away at your organs and making you feel miserable. Parasites were once thought to be a Third World problem, but more and more North Americans are plagued by them every year. Could you be a host to an unwelcome party?

Fast Fact:

A parasite is a live organism that uses a host for its food and home.
It is estimated that 90 percent of Americans have some form of parasites. Parasites include ringworm, roundworms, tapeworms, microbial growth and their eggs. They can rob vital nutrients from your body which can result in poor health.

For example, the World Health Organization estimates that almost one billion people have hookworms, a dangerous parasite. Dr. Thomas Brooks says that hemoglobin levels as low as 15 percent of normal have been seen in patients with severe longstanding hookworm disease. Your energy and ability to fight off infection is effectively zapped by these tiny visitors.
Signs and symptoms may come about during initial exposure, shortly after that exposure, or many months later. What many of us are attributing to old age, stress, or plain old poor health, may in fact be due to these tiny invaders, parasites.

What Do Parasites Do?

Parasites like warm, dark, moist spaces, such as the colon and digestive tract. It is vital to your overall health to keep the colon and digestive tract clean so parasites do not grow there. Their eggs can hatch in the colon and invade the intestinal wall. They also release toxic wastes that are actually their feces and urine. These toxins are practically pure ammonia. This waste then stresses the kidneys, liver, and immune system. They will then migrate to all parts of the body making us feel as though we are always hungry and never satisfied. This in turn causes the body to gain extra weight while the parasites get bigger and stronger.

Dr. Hazel Parcels has outlined that when you have parasites affecting the kidneys or thyroid, you can get water retention, causing cellulite in various areas of the body. As you can see, these parasites can just weigh the body down. They feed on your nutrients and lay thousands of eggs. They drain your energy and their waste poisons your body.
When the body becomes too toxic, you crave junk toxic foods. Dr. Parcels says different parasites eat different things. So, if you crave sugar, it may not be your fault; you may have a sugar loving parasite. In fact, parasites love sugar and are known to be one of the causes of diabetic tendencies and blood sugar discrepancies.

There are two types of parasites: large and small. Small parasites may be microscopic, but they can cause big damage. Some microscopic parasites can get into your bones and eat away at the calcium, causing arthritis symptoms. Dr. Roger Mason suggests that a particular microscopic parasite, indolimax nanna, is the cause of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Fast Fact:

According to Dr. Hazel Parcels, one of the first to publicize the parasite issue in this century, medical studies have shown that 85 percent of the adult population has one or more types of parasites.

But parasites do not cause only diagnosable diseases such as RA. Consider if you have any of these symptoms:

- itchy ears, nose, anus or even a constant itchy sensation on your back, arms, legs, scalp problems with male sexual dysfunction
- skin conditions such as rash, hives, and acne
-female problems with the menstrual cycle
- anal itching, especially at night
- blurry unclear vision
- a bloated stomach
- irritable bowel syndrome or even Chrons
- Candida yeast infection
- recurrent vaginal and bladder infections
- an increased appetite

Kids usually experience cravings for sweets, sodas, and junk foods, pulling of their hair, ADD, short attention spans, grinding of the teeth, hyperactivity, crying spells, rash and eczema, allergies, asthma and even bad breath, all due to parasites.

Weight problems can be a sign of parasites and constipation. What can you do? The first thing we recommend is to clean out your colon, which can be the nesting grounds for parasites, because it may be impacted with encrusted fecal matter. Over time, built up fecal matter can give you a protruding, bloated stomach as well as excess weight around the hips and thighs.

If you have any of these common problems, you could be hosting parasites. The problems will only get worse if you don’t do something about it.

Fast Fact:

Parasites lay up to 6,000 eggs a day.

How Do We Get Parasites?

You may be wondering how you wind up being host to the little buggers. Well, food is a big source of parasites. Meats like pork and fish are particularly parasitic and need to be cooked thoroughly. Fish carries tapeworms, in particular, which can grow up to 15 feet long and eat all the food you do, leaving you very little leftovers. Parasites release toxins into your body, which can make you feel even worse.

Vegetables and fruits also carry parasites, so be sure to wash them thoroughly before ingesting. Peel and clean them or cook vegetables thoroughly to rid them of parasites.
We also get parasites through the exchange of bodily fluids from sexual contact or even from saliva in the mouth. Parasites, especially on a microscopic level, travel through the mouth and, in many cases, in a man’s semen.

Another parasite, one of many that is transmitted sexually, is trichomonis vaginalis, to which both men and women are susceptible. This parasite in women causes a foul smelling discharge, painful urination, problems with bladder, and the urethra. In men, this parasite can cause infections in the reproductive tract, prostate, and urinary tract. It is always recommended that each spouse also be treated on the parasite cleansing program immediately in order to avoid re-infection.

Pets are also a common source. When a dog licks his anus and then gives you a “kiss,” they may transmit parasites to your body. Be sure to have your dog de-wormed at least twice a year to protect both your family and your pet from parasites.

Perhaps most alarming are the parasites that threaten children in sandboxes and folks who enjoy barefoot walks on sandy beaches. These parasites, called hookworms, burrow into the skin and cause an itchy wound. They can go into the circulatory system and eventually make their way to the lungs or the digestive system, where they attach themselves to the walls of the intestines and actually drink human blood.

Fast Fact:

Hookworms have been known to cause blood loss totaling up to 1 cc of blood per worm per day.

To avoid getting parasites, wash your hands regularly, especially under the nails, make sure to cook all of your meats well done, be careful walking outdoors barefoot, and make sure to wash all of your fruits and vegetables before eating. But once you have parasites, it is imperative to your health that you get rid of them.
